Today I happened to flip through one of those free newspaper things that comes in the mail every week that no one ever looks at I noticed an article about the Toquerville town hall. It was about how the city council had decided to make the town hall into a museum. The historic society was working with them on it. They said that people in town need a place to keep their historic artifacts. So if they want a museum, why can't they just build one? I find it a perfect waste of a beautiful building to turn it into a museum. They said they want to do it because it's too small to house all of the people at town gatherings. So have them somewhere else. They said that when they held the Miss Toquerville pageant there last year some of the girls had a hard time dancing on the stage. So don't have it there. Ever since I can remember the pageant has been held in the high school, anyway. Several years ago when they built the city offices they restored the town hall so it could be used by the public. So why all of a sudden to they not want us to be able to use it? Buildings need to be used and loved. Making it a museum would be a complete waste. Any differing or similar opinions?
In case any one is interested, the next city council meeting where they're discussing this is on April 8th. Next Thursday. My parents are going to fight it. They'd be grateful for any help they could get.
Cheers! :)

oh man, i agree with you! that is a waste of a perfectly good building. So many people use that for so many things. toquerville is getting so political, i miss the good old days.
{i mean it's always been political, but now it's getting rediculous and political. haha}
