6 Days!

Only 6 days left! I'm so excited. And by the way, Justin has a job and we found a place to live after the Roosendaals. :)

2 weeks and 4 days

Golly! The time is flying by! I'm so excited. :) We've been doing a lot of the final preparations for the wedding lately, and I'm really very pleased with everything. The main thing we need to do (besides paint the gazebo) is make the cake. We made the bottom layer a few weeks ago, planning to make the whole thing out of rice crispy treats, but after it alone took 9 batches, we decided to shell out the money and buy Styrofoam cake forms. I also bought a damask [pronounced dam-isk with a long A, like the swear word] stencil and frosting spray paint, so the bottom layer will have that around it, the middle layer will just have a yellow ribbon around the base, and the top layer will have that quilted look that they do with fondant with little edible pearls at each intersection. The whole thing will be white (imagine that) with yellow damask and ribbons. And yellow flowers on top.
Yesterday my mom and I went and met with the florist and designed my bouquet and all the other flowers. :) My bouquet will just be all yellow calla lilies with navy blue ribbon around the stems, much like this one:

For the centerpieces I think I'll get a bunch of tall, skinny vases and put lemons in them, with a single long stem of asiatic lilies in them.
My mom and I also went to the distribution center and got my temple clothes and stuff. I'm so excited! I go through the temple in a week and 4 days. Golly! :)
Now we just need to find Justin a job, and find a place to live after the Roosendaals when school starts. Any suggestions?

P.S. I also want to try the hairstyle above. It probably won't work, but it's worth a try, right?

Holy Hannah!

I just realized that we're getting married in 7 weeks. 1 month and 23 days! I'm so excited I can hardly contain it. :) We ordered invitations the other day, I decided on a bouquet, we've got the cake mostly figured out, secured a groom, my mom has the reception planned, we finished the guest list, called the temple, got a sealer, have a place to live for a few months after we get married (which happens to be my dream home), we got engagements and a few pre-bridals taken, got a band for the reception, and lots of other stuff that I don't remember. PLUS!!! Justin moves down in 3 weeks! Yay!!! We've been so blessed. :) Life is fantastic.

The Toquerville Town Hall

Today I happened to flip through one of those free newspaper things that comes in the mail every week that no one ever looks at I noticed an article about the Toquerville town hall. It was about how the city council had decided to make the town hall into a museum. The historic society was working with them on it. They said that people in town need a place to keep their historic artifacts. So if they want a museum, why can't they just build one? I find it a perfect waste of a beautiful building to turn it into a museum. They said they want to do it because it's too small to house all of the people at town gatherings. So have them somewhere else. They said that when they held the Miss Toquerville pageant there last year some of the girls had a hard time dancing on the stage. So don't have it there. Ever since I can remember the pageant has been held in the high school, anyway. Several years ago when they built the city offices they restored the town hall so it could be used by the public. So why all of a sudden to they not want us to be able to use it? Buildings need to be used and loved. Making it a museum would be a complete waste. Any differing or similar opinions?
In case any one is interested, the next city council meeting where they're discussing this is on April 8th. Next Thursday. My parents are going to fight it. They'd be grateful for any help they could get.
Cheers! :)
